Parliamentary Reporters Association President on Thursday in a press statement strongly condemn the misbehavior of rangers personals with journalists during the period of lockdown in karachi.

Moreover, President of Association demanded DG Rangers for the issuance of instructions regarding the behavior of rangers personals with journalists.

Misbehavior with Journalists would not be tolerated now, President Parliamentary Reporters Association. He also urged Chief Minister and Governor Sindh to talk with DG Rangers for the redressal of the said issue.

It was learned that rangers and police personals have been deployed in all over the province to ensure the implementation on 15 days lockdown order of Sindh Government but on the other hand as per the directives of provincial government Journalists have an exemption in lockdown period and they are free to perform their duties during the said duration.

Whereas it was mention on the directives of the Sindh Government regarding Journalist’s Exemption that they have to present their CNIC and Office card if any law enforcement official would stop.

City News observed that from the first day of lockdown despite showing identification Press card and CNIC, numbers of journalists have faced misbehavior, torture and even arrested by the law enforcement personals in various areas of Karachi.

However, on the same day, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah Provincial Minister contacted top officials of Rangers and Police department and informed them about the reservations expressed by the journalists as well as other people engaged in delivering essential services, about the behavior of the forces’ personnel deployed on various places in Karachi during the lockdown.

A Press Statement issued by the office of Information Minister stated that, Nasir Shah told top Rangers and police officers that they should convey to all those security personnel deployed on the roads elsewhere in Karachi to improve their attitude with journalists.

The concerned top officers of Rangers and Police told provincial Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah that security personnel on the roads had been instructed not to misbehave with journalists as well as other people who had been permitted by the government to do their job, it added.

It was also mentioned on a Press release that Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also directed to immediately address the concerns of the journalists.
