KDA Employees Union Union Spokesman Abdul Maroof , President Nadeem Khokhar and General Secretary Dilawar Khan in a joint statement stated that Ex. DG Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Dr. Saif ur Rehman moved summary for the approval of 400 Million additional grant to bear the expenses of employees salary and pension during lockdown.

Abdul Maroof said that the Union gets information that the provincial government has agreed for the payment of said 400 Million one time grant but they are proving it to the department as a loan or credit which would pay back in a period of 12 months.

Whereas he informed that Sindh Government provide 200 Million grant to KDA on monthly basis to bear the expenses, in the current situation of lockdown recovery of the department has stopped and KDA total expenses of salaries and pensions are estimated 3400 Million .

Due to lockdown all the offices of KDA are closed and the department is facing shortfall in payment of employees salaries and pension, he added.

Employees Union spokesman said the department is already facing the financial crisis and it has to generate 1400 million additionally with the provincial government grant to bear expenses and in this situation how KDA could pay back 350 Million rupees to Sindh government to pay the installment of loan.

Abdul Maroof urged Sindh Government to approve the amount of 400 Million rupees as a grant as the department would get financially stable by the said grant.
