A Delegation of the KDA Employees Union (CBA) held a meeting with Sindh Minister for Local Government and Chairman of the Governing Body, Mr. Saeed Ghani, at his office in the Sindh Secretariat to discuss the long-pending Charter of Demands.
The delegation was led by Union President Muhammad Abdul Maroof, General Secretary Qamar Abbas, and committee members Nadeem Khokhar, Aziz , and Lalu .
According to the Press Statement issued by KDA employees union during the meeting, Saeed Ghani stated that the current Charter of Demands lacks essential components, including a complete working paper and supporting documents. He assured the union that their Charter of Demands has been scheduled for discussion in the upcoming Governing Body (GB) meeting.
Union President Abdul Maroof expressed gratitude to Mr. Ghani and voiced hope that the Charter would be approved in the next GB session. “The KDA Employees Union trusts that the laborers’ demands will finally receive official recognition and approval,” he said.
General Secretary Qamar Abbas highlighted that KDA employees have not received an approved Charter of Demands in the past 25 years. He appealed to the Minister to take immediate action and ensure its approval in the forthcoming GB meeting. “The hardworking employees of KDA will always remember your support and keep you in their prayers,” he added.
