KARACHI;(APP) Around 5000 personnel of Karachi police, including 1500 personnel of Security Division and 1050 Special Security Unit (SSU) commandos were performing security duties along-with Traffic Police, Rapid Response Force, Special Branch and personnel from other law enforcement agencies at National Stadium Karachi, Karachi Airport, routes, practice grounds, hotels and other areas.

Whereas, a specialized command & control bus will also be stationed at National
Stadium to monitor law & order situation in surroundings of the stadium, said a news release on Monday.

DIGP Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed said that alongside sharp shooters who will be deployed at sensitive points in the suburbs of routes and National Stadium, aerial-surveillance will also be made to beef-up the security arrangements.

Commandant SSU Dr. Farrukh Ali said that the Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team comprising highly trained and well equipped commandos will be deployed inside and outside the stadium to challenge any emergency situation.

Unlike past practices and to facilitate the public, free flow of traffic will be ensured and only major artery will be blocked during match timings.
