Journalism now become a business, Senior Journalist Mehmood Sham

Mass Communication Department of Federal Urdu University Abdul Haq Campus Karachi organized a seminar on the situation of language in media, Senior Journalist Mahmood Sham participated as a special Guest in the seminar.

While addressing students, Mehmood Sham said Two hundred years have passed of urdu language in journalism but no events organized for it in Pakistan.

In today’s era, freedom of expression has to go through many difficulties and The quality of language in Pakistan is going down day by day, he added.

Whereas, He said that the interference of non-political institutions is spoiling media and Due to social media, the process of selling newspapers has decreased drastically and the tendency of the owners has also decreased.

While speaking on the situation of Reporters he added that There is a shortage of trained reporters in Pakistan and no training is provided, Reporters are more loyal to their beat than their profession and Journalism has now become a business, earlier the news was printed, now it is hidden.

Dr. Masroor Khanum, Head of Department of the Department of Mass Communication Federal Urdu thanked Dr. Mehmood Sham for his presence .

While addressing the students, she said that reading is very important for media students, reading books gives you a treasure of words, by which you can improve your writing and speaking skills.

It is very difficult to write and speak without reading, it is necessary to make reading a part of your routine.

At the end of seminar , Dr. Masroor Khanum presented shield to Mehmood Sham on behalf of the Department of Mass Communication.
