Khairpur: During this pandemic situation, The Well Foundation distributed sewing machines to the rural women living in marginalized communities of District Khairpur to change their otherwise struggling lifestyles.

This initiative aimed to improve economic status of women and their families through business skills and education. The one of the main missions of The Well Foundation is to empower, restore and regenerate women and improve their status.

Faheem Baqir representative of TWF, said, “we are helping women who wanted to make a living or contribute to their family who failed to do so owing to lack of money or resources.

Enabling women to stand on their feet paves the way for betterment of the whole family. We are trying to boost the morale of such women, particularly poor and uneducated. It’s a blessing to work for those who are in distress said” Faheem.

Salman Ali thanked the TWF for their kind support. Moreover, he said the small number of rupees which these targeted women will earn will lead to some amount of financial independence, this will be the foundation for empowerment.

One of the rural women while sharing her thoughts said she is living below the poverty line. Now with the help of this sewing machine she will start her business at home. Through her earning she will run her family, educate her children and meet medical bills.
