Islamabad: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially announced that Eid ul-Adha will be celebrated across Pakistan on Saturday , June 7, 2025.

The announcement was made after the sighting of the Zilhaj moon was confirmed on the evening of June 6. Religious scholars, astronomers, and officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs convened for moon sighting observations in various parts of the country.

Eid ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, holds deep religious significance for Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.

Citizens have begun preparing for the festivities, including the traditional Qurbani (sacrifice) of animals, which will begin after Eid prayers on Friday morning. Special arrangements are being made in major cities for prayer gatherings, livestock markets, and sanitation during the Eid period.

Authorities have urged the public to ensure cleanliness and follow guidelines for animal sacrifice to maintain hygiene and public health.
