Rafia Javed Mallah Additional Director Directoate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh stated that, The Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh, issued a notification on July 23, directing that all public and private schools across Sindh remain closed until August 14, 2024, for summer vacations.

She informed that, The notification also stated that schools can only call students for preparations related to Independence Day celebrations.

Minister for Education and Literacy Department Syed Sardar Shah has taken serious notice of reports that private schools are calling students for academic and class activities under the pretext of Independence Day preparations from August 6 and opening schools for academic activities for students, she added..

Further she said, Therefore, all private school administrations are strictly warned not to call students for class or academic activities and to keep class activities closed until August 14, 2024 and call selected students for preparation of independence day celebration only

Furthermore, all school administrations are strictly instructed not to force parents to buy books, stationery, uniforms, etc., from the school and to charge only the approved fees from students, she told.

They must also ensure compliance with the 10% freeship Act.

Moreover Rafia Mallah warned that Strict legal action, including suspension of registration and heavy fines, will be taken against schools found violating the above instruction.
