Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is taking positive steps to promote the trend of reading among the young generation.
In this regard, On the directives of DG KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, a street library has been established in Khayaban Iqbal Road near Do Talwar under the supervision of Chief Engineer Nadeem Iqbal and Superintendent Engineer Tariq Rafi. It should be remembered that the street library was inaugurated by Sindh government spokesperson Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
DG KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah’s initiatives for the promotion of education among the citizens, especially the young generation, have been well received at the national level.
Director General of Karachi Development Authority Syed Muhammad Ali Shah expressed his views and said that in the modern era, after social media and other internet became common, the trend of reading books among the young generation is decreasing, and the establishment of street library is a welcome development for every citizen, especially the young generation, will be able to benefit from this library.
He further said that wall chalking is going on by unknown elements to dim the beauty of the city, through wall chalking, a negative trend is being created in the young generation, which is worrying for the country’s development and the future of the young generation while legal action has been initiated to stop this practice on a permanent basis and the establishment of street libraries across the city will also help in ending wall chalking.
Studying can not only ensure social development but also provide opportunities for future development to the young generation, undoubtedly the future of the country is connected with the young generation.
DG KDA reiterated the commitment that Karachi Development Authority will soon establish street libraries in KDA townships and schemes in the city, where the study of textbooks including world literature, culture and history will be an opportunity among the youth, it will bring a new spirit and lead to the prosperity of the country.
Karachi Development Authority is trying every day to provide recreational facilities as well as a healthy environment to the young generation.
