The budget for Safoora Town for the fiscal year 2025-26 has entered its final stages.
A key meeting was held under the chairmanship of Safoora Town Chairman Rashid Khaskheli, attended by Vice Chairman Abdul Haq Baloch, Municipal Commissioner Amjad Ali Pitafi, and heads of various departments.
During the meeting, Chairman Rashid Khaskheli sought suggestions from officials to improve the budget and questioned them about the targets related to local tax recovery.
He issued strict instructions to ensure all possible steps are taken to improve tax collection and emphasized that the assigned targets must be met at all costs.
Khaskheli stressed that performance should be based on ground realities rather than manipulated figures, adding, “We are accountable to the council, so we must present a realistic picture.”
He announced plans to present a development-focused budget, although he acknowledged constraints, stating, “We are compelled not to reduce the Schedule of Establishment budget, which remains higher than other expenditures. This is not unique to Safoora Town but applies to all towns in Karachi.”
He assured that the upcoming fiscal year would see significant development initiatives and that the budget would soon be presented before the council.
