The Islamabad police on Sunday evening conducted a raid on the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shibli Faraz in the federal capital’s F-7 sector.

According to sources, Faraz is nominated in a case registered at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station. They said that the PTI leader was present at his house during the raid, however, his wife and mother told the officials that he was not present. The police team left the house soon after.

Meanwhile, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani expressed concern over the raid, urging police to respect the sanctity of the veil and four walls of the house as Faraz was a member of the Senate.

He directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad to provide a detailed report of the incident without delay.
