While Commemorating World No Tobacco Day , Tobacco Smoke Free Cities (TSFC) Ministry of NHSR&C with the support of Pakistan Railways Karachi Division arranged a meeting at Cantt Railway Station Karachi on the awareness of Tobacco Control Laws.
Station Master Cantt Station Mr. Ramzan , Incharge Ticketing Essa Zardari including transportation officers of Pakistan Railways Karachi Division and other officers of the department attended the session on awareness of Tobacco Control Laws.
Whereas Dr. Minhaj us Siraj Project Director and Muhammad Aftab Project Manager TSFC briefed participants about the existing Tobacco Control Laws and the role of railway officers for smoke free trains.
Moreover Dr. Minhaj informed participants that TSFC is already working with the collaboration of Pakistan Railways Lahore Division to make the railway platforms and trains smoke free by proper signage and monitoring of violations.
At last Railway Karachi Division Officials along with TSFC Project Director cut the ribbon of smoke free plate at Cantt Station Karachi after which the Railway Station Cantt has been declared a smoke free place , however Station Master with Dr. Minhaj and other officials also pasted a no smoking signage stickers at the train and formally initiated the campaign of smoke free trains .
However, TSFC Officials thanked to Divisional Superintendent and Divisional Commercial Officer Pakistan Railways Karachi Division for supporting the cause of smoke free Karachi to save the lives of our future generations.
TSFC Staff handed over no smoking signage stickers to the officials of railway which specially designed for trains to be pasted in the trains which has come on Cantt Station Karachi platform.
