Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is often in the headlines, but these days, he has become the center of advanced artificial intelligence technology as his voice was seemingly replicated and used in social media voice-overs.

During a pre-departure press conference ahead of ICC World Cup 2023, Babar was asked about how social media platforms have been flooded with clips featuring an AI-generated voice eerily similar to Babar’s, narrating various pieces of content.

Responding to the question, Babar stated in a lighter tone that hearing his own voices in AI-generated content left him perplexed.

“For a moment, I was worried after hearing my AI-created voice, and I was like, how did they get my voice?” Babar said.

After the surprise selection of right-arm pacer Hassan Ali in the World Cup squad, a famous meme video from Waqar Zaka’s reality show “Meri selection ho gayi hai” surfaced on the internet where Babar’s and Hassan’s faces were swapped, leaving the fans in laughter over the relatability of the given situation.
