Karachi: The Jinnah Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) administration has launched a cleanliness drive to restore the beauty of the town.

Chairman Jinnah Town Rizwan Abdul Sami, along with Assistant Commissioner Jamshed Zone Hashim Masood, inaugurated the cleanliness campaign from UC-8 Bahadurabad Alamgir Road Char Minar Chowrangi.

Coordinator Jinnah Town Rao Kashif, Chairman Sanitation Committee Tahir Islam, Director Sanitation Muhammad Iqbal, and Assistant Directors of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Aamir Abbas and Naveed Awan were also present on the occasion.

Speaking to media representatives, Chairman Rizwan Abdul Sami said that cleanliness is half of faith, and everyone needs to keep this in mind.

However, in the past, the administration’s work was carried out on a substandard basis, which resulted in the town’s luster fading. But we have resolved to make this town unique and exemplary for other towns, he said.

In this regard, I have started the cleanliness campaign from Alamgir Road today. This campaign has also been started in all UCs of Jinnah Town, he told.

Moreover he informed that, For this, the town has provided 12 tractor trolleys, 12 shovels, and 15 garbage rickshaws to all UCs so that the people of Jinnah Town can be provided with a clean environment before Eid-ul-Fitr, for which the Jinnah Town administration is working day and night.

All the work is being completed in phases. In the next phase, the cables in the town will also be undergrounded and the useless cables will be eliminated, and Insha’Allah, Jinnah Town will soon be made a model town.

He further said that our institution belongs to local bodies,It is our duty, and we have resolved to fulfill the basic needs of the people, for which the people have entrusted us with their right of representation by trusting us.

On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Hashim Masood appreciated the steps taken by the Chairman and administration of Jinnah Town for public welfare and assured full cooperation from the district government.

He said that encroachments have been removed from several places in the past few days in collaboration with the town administration, which were causing traffic jams and accidents.

Along with this, the cleanliness campaign has also been started by Jinnah Town from today, and public welfare works will continue to be carried out with joint efforts in the future, he added.
