KARACHI: The prosecution department has failed to prepare a paper book of the case proceedings of the Murtaza Bhutto murder case although it was directed to do so by a court in 2011.

The Sindh High Court (SHC), taking strong exception to the red-tape delays, instructed the public prosecutor to prepare the paper book of the case within three days.

Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto was hearing the plea against the acquittal of the police officers accused of killing Murtaza.

The petitioner’s counsel stated that 20 people were accused in the case, but some of them, including Shahid Hayat, have passed away. Therefore, it was necessary to create a paper book. Noor Mohammad Goga, a worker for Murtaza Bhutto had filed appeals against the acquittal of the accused in 2010.
