Sind Healthcare Commission ( SHCC) conducted effective actions on ‘Quacks’ in Larkana District. Last week, SHCC Anti Quackery task-force, including members of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and Deputy Commissioner’s office, and DHO Office Larkana, conducted Inspections and Enforcement actions on
‘quacks’ in Ratodero, Naudero and Waris Dino Machi.

Actions were taken on illegal healthcare units where ‘quacks’ were identified and
apprehended Under Section U/S 39(G&H) of SHCC Regulations 2017.
During the 1- week operation, 10 illegal clinics were sealed, including clinics that
were illegally de-sealed in violation of SHCC Act 2013. Warning Notices were also
issued to 9 to non-compliant healthcare practitioners (HCPs), not abiding to SHCC
Regulations. Moreover, 11 HCPs were found to be in-compliance with the law and
were given clearance to continue their operations.

SHCC Directorate of Anti Quackery has been successfully conducting the monthly
‘Anti-Quackery Drive’ , in coordination with SSP Office and DC office in Larkana
taking decisive actions to reduce and eradicate ‘quackery’ in the long run.
This has been a successfully initiative in terms of improving quality of healthcare
in the area and also in creating awareness amongst the general public under on
‘hazards of quackery’, in abidance of Section 38 of SHCC Regulations.

More follow-up visits are expected in coming weeks in Larkana District and across
the Division, where further strict actions will be taken on repeat-offenders and
urgent complaints about ‘Quackery’ will be logged in for timely resolution for the
convenience of the general public.
