Karachi :The legal frame work, specification of function as well as attendant financial guidelines, delegation of powers are provided in the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Act 1996 so how the provincial government could appoint Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in KWSB as these posts are not mentioned in this act, Junaid Siddiqui General Secretary Aabkar Workers Union claimed that the said postings are illegal and the union would soon move to Sindh Highcourt to challenge this illegal practice.

While speaking with Daily City News Chairman Syed Rasheed and General Secretary Junaid Siddiqui of Aabkar Union informed that Engr. Syed Salahuddin is a 19 Grade Government employee he could not be posted in market based post , Similarly Asad Ullah Khan is a retired employee how could he hire again to work as COO.

Union General Secretary told that, CEO/COO/ CITO/ Secretary posts created illegally by approving and including it in schedule of establishment ,as the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation Bill still on table and not passed by the provincial assembly .

They revealed that the said officers were posted in the department to back the alleged corrupt system in KWSB, Due to the existence of corrupt system KWSB is not paying the long standing dues and funds of employees

The Union office bearers urged to the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court and Chief Minister of Sindh to take action against this illegal act and safeguard the rights of KWSB employees .
