A strong earthquake of 7.7 magnitude jolted several parts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday evening.

According to initial reports, tremors felt in various cities including Islamabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Lahore, Rawalpindi and others.

No casualties or loss of life has been reported so far.

The epicentre of the earthquake was recorded 90 km away from Afghanistan.

According to the international seismological centre, apart from Pakistan, tremors were also felt in Turkmenistan, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, China, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Due to the intensity of the earthquake, people came out of their homes in panic in different cities.

At the time of the earthquake, a stampede was also reported in the markets of Rawalpindi.
