Karachi: The residents of Shah Faisal Town revealed that Cardiac Emergency Center of Shah Faisal Town Karachi doors close at 9 Pm everyday , due to which a patient with cardiac emergency could lost his life because of delay in medical treatment, while it is also a wastage of public money as Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is spending more than 100 Million rupees just for the payment of employees salaries of this emergency center.

While Speaking with Daily City News Correspondent Dr. Majid Ali Medical Superintendent of Cardiac Emergency Center Shah Faisal Town informed that he has made the shift roster of doctors and also issued show cause to the doctors who are not coming or going early in the night shift, he admitted that due to doctor’s shortage the center sometimes close earlier but he claimed that the center close at 12 Pm everyday.

Moreover, he stated that, total five doctors including two male, 3 female and four nursing staff available in the center in which some of them work in morning and some in evening shift. However, he is the only with a Diploma in Cardiology (DIP Card) ; other doctors have only the experience of cardiology along with MBBS, he added.

It was learned that according to the Budget Book of KMC for the year 2022-23, with 137 posts 101,633,000 Rupees budget allocated in term of employees salaries and 48,50,000 allocated for other expenses which includes 15,00,000 Rupees for purchase of medicines, 1,500,000 rupees for purchase of medical surgical and disposable articles, 600,000 rupees for purchase of petrol /diesel including other expenses for Cardiac Emergency Center Shah Faisal Town . Federal Government is seeking financial aid/loan from IMF including other banks and countries to run the country financial matters, whereas on the other hand millions of rupees are being wasted in government departments like KMC where numbers of employees posted on paper but in reality the department health facility is facing employees shortage, which is happening allegedly due to the presence of ghost employees who are getting their salaries without performing their duties.
