DUHS deducts salaries of around 100 nursing staff from 20 to 40%, spokesman of Young Nursing Association (YNA) DUHS Unit told Daily City News that the management has deducted the salaries of nursing staff without any intimation.

He informed that no staff of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) have got COVID risk allowance despite of the orders of Sindh Government to provide risk allowance to all doctors, nurses including paramedical staff.

Further he revealed that 300 to 400 staff of DUHS affect from Coronavirus whereas 3 to 4 martyred due to COVID-19 but the Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Azam and Director Nursing are not taking any interest in providing relief to the nursing staff.

He stated, Changing Room of Male /Female Nursing staff has been forcibly vacated and their Uniforms have been thrown out, however they allocated washroom as an alternate location of changing room for nursing staff.

YNA Spokesman urged to the Vice Chancellor of DUHS for the removal of Medical Superintendent and all the employees whose salaries has been deducted should be returned.

He asked the management that under which law salaries have been deducted and hinted for the boycott of COVID wards by nursing and other staff if the management would not take interest in resolving their said issues.
