Around 50 shops, Grocery store, bakeries, tailor shops, Marts & shopping malls, were sealed late on Monday night and on Tuesday as the District Central administration took action on the directions of Karachi Commissioner Mr. Navid Shaikh against violations of the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

According to the details shared by the District Central Additional deputy commissioner (ADC II) office, several shopping centres, shops and marts were sealed and imposed fine by the district administration over violations of the Covid-19 SOPs exercising the powers under Section 3(4) of the Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014.

ADC II Central Abdul Hanan Bhutto, during his visit to the North Nazimabad, Gulberg and other areas of the district with the Pakistan Army, Rangers and Police sealed the largest shopping mall of Pakistan i.e. Lucky one shopping mall, along with more than 50 different shops in the district, for violating the Covid-19 SOPs on Tuesday.

He informed that deputy commissioner central Mr. M.B. Raja Dharejo is continuously monitoring the Lockdown situation very minutely.

Various pickets have been installed all over the district to discourage people to move freely. People had been advised by administration not to leave their homes without a genuine purpose.

Fines of Rs.50/- were also being imposed on people not wearing masks. Moreover, masks were distributed at each picket to sensitise people about the severity of this dilemma.

He lastly urged people to stay at their homes to keep their parents and children safe who are more prone & less immune to this heinous disease.
