A dangerous incident occurred at Engro Polymer Port Qasim Plant where Gas pipe line blasted abruptly and gas leaked when workers were busy at their working place at Port Qasim plant.

On that occasion Abdul Lateef, Allah Dino, Aqil Ahmed, Sheraz Ali, Ibrahim Shah, Waseem, Umair, Ghulam Nabi, Muhammad Irfan, Yousuf Masti Khan, Muhammad Hafeez, Abuzar, Arsh Hussain, Ahsan Ibrar and others more than hundred workers became injured and unconscious due to suffocation by chemical leak and panic.

Factory management proclaimed emergency and kept on instructing to save workers. Management called rescue staff and security department officials who came at incident place on immediate base and controlled on factory surrounding and halted people going towards factory.

Rescue staff rescued workers and got out them from factory and volunteers sent injured and unconscious workers towards Hundreds Hospital Steel Mill, Aisha Hospital, AL Khidmat Gulshan Hadeed and Jinnah Hospital by ambulances where more than 5 workers were in critical situation.

In this respect hospitals management told on contact that 45 workers were brought toward Al-Khimat hospital, 35 in Aisha, 25 in Hundred Bed Hospital and more than 60 were brought into Jinnah Hospital where unconscious workers were treated who are out of danger now even more than 5 workers are in ICU ward.

Every where fright spread in Port Qasim industrial area and factories announced half day leave for workers who were working in morning time.

On the other hand Provincial Minister of Sindh Murtaza Baloch and Environmental Departments took notice against incident and expressed pity on situation also ordered for fair and transparent investigation.
