Karachi:  The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Azra Pechuho on her recent appointment as the Health Minister of Sindh. With great anticipation, we welcome Dr. Pechuho’s leadership and vision for the healthcare sector, and we are hopeful for positive changes under her guidance.

The YDA Sindh is eager to work alongside Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho and her esteemed cabinet, under the guidance of Dr. Mehboob Noonari, Chairman of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh, to address the pressing issues faced by healthcare professionals and institutions across the province.

In line with our commitment to improving healthcare services in Sindh, we present the following key areas of focus:

1. Allocation of Seats for Dental Surgeons:

We urge the government to swiftly allocate seats for dental surgeons and provide them with the necessary resources and support to enhance dental care services throughout the province.

2. Regularization of Covid and Non-Regular Doctors:

It is imperative to prioritize the regularization of Covid and non-regular doctors to ensure stability within the healthcare workforce and strengthen the state’s response to future health crises.

3. Revitalization of Non-Functional Healthcare Setups:

Many healthcare facilities in Sindh remain non-functional or inadequately equipped. It is crucial for the government to prioritize the revitalization of these facilities to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all citizens.

4. Special Consideration for Underprivileged Healthcare Centers:

We call upon the government to pay special attention to healthcare centers serving underprivileged communities. These centers require immediate intervention to uplift their standards and cater to the healthcare needs of the most vulnerable segments of society.

5. Enhancement of Salaries and Allowances:

Enhancing salaries and allowances for Sindh government-employed healthcare professionals, faculty, and university staff is essential to recognize their dedication and contribution to the healthcare sector.

6. Implementation of Security Bill and Medical Jurisprudence Law:

Ensuring the implementation of the Security Bill and Medical Jurisprudence Law is vital to safeguarding the safety and rights of healthcare professionals while promoting accountability within the healthcare system.

7. Deputation Policies:

The YDA Sindh emphasizes the need for fair and transparent deputation policies that support doctors in pursuing higher education opportunities without unnecessary hurdles or disruptions.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to collaborating with Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho and her team, under the leadership of Dr. Mehboob Noonari, to achieve these objectives and to actively contribute to the advancement of healthcare services in Sindh. Together, we can build a healthier and more prosperous future for all citizens.
