Woman Burned alive: Human rights Org demands for action against SHO Shah Latif over negligence
A woman in Karachi died on Friday after being burned alive by her husband and mother-in-law on April 25, in Mossa Goth, Bin Qasim Malir Karachi.
27 years old Humira Wali Muhammad Jokhio and Her sister Arifa with Nadir ali Jokhio married three years ago on the same date.
On First of Ramazan April 25, 2020 Humira Burnt Alive by her husband, mother in law during fasting. When the complainant approached police to lodge complain, police refused to register it and asked complainant to bring the evidence. Father and Brother of Victim humaira continuously approached police for 2 days to register complaint Despaired from the police; complainant took his family and went to Malir Press Club to record his protest.
Malir Press Club took up the case and compelled police to register the FIR and arrest those involved in this heinous crime. Finally, a FIR was lodged at 4:00 AM on April 29, 2020 after keeping complainants Ghulam Rabani Jokhio father of Victim and victim’s sister Arifa 8 months pregnant who is only the eye witness of the brutal murder, at the police station for almost eleven hours; keeping .
To hide the delay and negligence in FIR registration, police falsely showed that the FIR was registered on April 28, 2020.
Later on April 30, 2020 complainants approached People’s Human Rights organization – PHRO when victim couldn’t survive and died.
After Complaint application of Legal – Aid received at People’s Human Rights Organization – PHRO Complainant/ Applicant Ghulam Rabani Jokhio Mr. Ihsan Ali Khoso issued argent appeal to the Sindh Human Rights Commission, Mrs. Anees Haroon former Provincial Member National Human Rights Commission Pakistan and Sindh Commission on Status of Women.
Peoples Human Rights Organization Raised the Negligence of police officer on duty by refusing to lodge FIR on time, no medical letter of were on time issued.
The action must be taken against the Station House Officer SHO Shah latif for negligence in this case and keeping almost eleven hours; at police station.
It’s also unfortunate that death certificate issued by Medical officer of Burn Center of Civil hospital where they have mention husband accused name in the section of father also the jurisdiction mentioned Razaqabad Police station which does not exist in Karachi.
Body was handed over to the family whiteout post mortem, proceeding of section 174, where not practiced it shows clear negligence of crime.
Serious action against SHO shah latif must be taken over all the negligence; this kind of negligence cannot be tolerated said Ihsan Ali chairman PHRO .
On May 04, 2020, Mr. ihsan Ali – Chairman People’s Human Rights Organization – PHRO along with family of Humira meet with Mr. Shamyl Riaz Malik, PSP SSP Investigation-II District Malir, Karachi.
Ghulam rabani jokhio Father of Victim requested SSP Investigation for fair investigation .
Where the Mr. Ihsan Ali – Chairman PHRO requested to SSP all the medical reports should be brought into investigation properly and thanked SSP investigation for his cooperation with Victims Family.
