Whistle Blower against Gutka Mafia Passed Away before Getting Justice
Naseem Haider resident of Korangi District of Pakistan’s Largest City Karachi and a person who started fight against Gutka (Smokeless Tobacco) Mafia has died due to oral cancer before getting justice.
It was learned that an FIR lodged in Zaman Town Police Station on 15th July 2019 by Naseem Haider against Gutka Producers in which ten persons nominated.
Naseem Haider said in an FIR that he was using Gutka (Smokeless Tobacco) from almost 8 years and from last 3 years he is suffering from Oral Cancer because of it he cannot eat or drink anything and he also shared that he is near to the death as his whole mouth is getting worst day by day.
The said person has died on 1st February 2020 while fighting with the disease of oral cancer.
Moreover he asked in the First Information Report to save the lives of other Pakistanis he is lodging this FIR and urged for the action against producers and sellers of Gutka to save the lives of citizens in future.
Gutka Sellers & Producers namely Raees, Minhaj, Kashif, Waseem Shehzad, Ishaq, Shabbir, Faraz, Faroque, Noman and Kamran were nominated in the said FIR who are on bail, which was given by the session court .
However Advocate Muzammil Mumtaz Meo Advocate of the applicant shared that, He has requested in the court for cancellation of bail of said persons, as the applicant has died and now the nominated gutka sellers would be charged under section 302.
Speaking with City News Mr. Muzammil said, Despite of the orders of Sindh High Court Gutka (Smokeless Tobacco) sale is continue in the city and he alleged that the said illegal business run under the supervision of Police by getting heavy bribe.
Further he informed that two cases against Gutka are ongoing in Sindh High Court, the hearing of case is in the last week of February and hearing of second case would be on next month.
He also revealed that Sister of Late Naseem Haider would pursue the said case to fight against Gutka Mafia.
In addition he expressed hope that the nominated accused would be behind bars very soon.
