TEA to make Malnhor Veena a Model Village for Education

Mithi :Thar Education Alliance has announced its decision to transform the village of Malnhor Veena in Tharparkar into a model village for education. This initiative aims to bring all out-of-school children back to school, provide technical training, and ensure every educational facility is available within the village’s schools.

A meeting was recently held by the CEO of Thar Education Alliance, Pratab Shivani, with the teachers of six schools in Malnhor Veena to discuss strategies for achieving this goal. During the meeting, the focus was placed on enrolling all children, particularly those who had previously dropped out, back into schools.

Speaking at the meeting, Pratab Shivani highlighted that Malnhor Veena will be the first village in Sindh where both academic and technical education will be provided to all children.

He emphasized that the success of this initiative will depend on the collaboration of the entire village community. Additionally, Shivani explained that surveys will be conducted for children above the age of nine, and technical training centers will be established to offer vocational training alongside formal education.

Girls’ education was also a priority during the discussions. Many girls in the village are already receiving education, and efforts will be made to reach those who are unable to attend school due to various reasons. Non-formal education centers will be set up close to their homes to provide both education and skills training.

Shivani underscored the importance of ensuring all children currently attending schools receive quality education. He also expressed concern about Pakistan’s high number of out-of-school children, stressing that initiatives like these can help bring children back to schools and educate the next generation.

The project will be supported by education-friendly individuals, philanthropists, and collaboration with the Department of Education. However, it was clarified that this is not a project funded by any institution, but a personal initiative driven by local efforts.

The teachers from the village’s six schools, including one high school, one elementary school, one girls’ primary school, and four primary schools, welcomed the decision. They pledged to work towards bringing every out-of-school child back to education. The village survey will be completed soon, and necessary arrangements for both academic and technical education will be made accordingly.

Notable figures including Head Teacher Satram Das, Pratab Suthar, Essar Das, Pratab Meghwar, Bhoorji Rajput, Raja Sharma, and others were also present at the meeting, offering their suggestions and support for the initiative.
