Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Thursday approved 219 appointments on deceased quota raising the total number of such appoints to 3481 since 2019 in various departments of the provincial government.
The approval was given in a meeting of a committee held with Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah in the chair.
The appointments made against deceased quota are 27 in local government department, 20 in health department, 15 in revenue department, 31 in irrigation department, 61 in school education department, 26 in works and services department and 9 each in agriculture and forest departments.
Granting the approval, Chief Secretary directed all the secretaries of concerned departments to complete the process of District Recruitment Committees and the salary of the appointed persons expeditiously.
Secretaries of various departments informed the meeting about the delays being faced in finalization of cases by District Recruitment Committees of different districts.
According to them, 19 cases of irrigation department, 80 cases of revenue department, 223 cases of health department, 64 cases of works and services department and 100 cases of school education department from different districts were sent to District Recruitment Committees.
Chief Secretary directed the concerned Deputy Commissioners to immediately convene the meetings of District Recruitment Committees and submit the reports within 15 days so that appointment against deceased quota could be ensured.
He also sought the details of those cases where the salaries have not been released or recruitment committee process has been delayed.
Senior Member, Board of Revenue Qazi Shahid Pervez, Secretary Excise Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Law Secretary Mansoor Abbas Rizvi, Secretary Food Laeeq Ahmed, Secretary Agriculture Abdul Raheem Soomro and other officers attended the meeting. (PR)
