A motorcycle belonging to the General Secretary of Awami Press Club Malir and Awaaz TV reporter, Manzoor Solangi, was stolen from the Link Road area near National Highway Chowrangi — within the jurisdiction of Steel Town Police Station. The theft occurred while he was covering a sit-in protest organized by the legal community against canal issues.
After completing the coverage of the protest, the journalist returned to find that his motorcycle — a Classic CR 70 bearing registration number KJR 1402 — was missing from its parked location. Despite a thorough search, the vehicle could not be found.
A complaint was promptly lodged via the 15 Madadgar emergency helpline. Additionally, Manzoor Solangi, accompanied by Malir Bar MMC member Haider Gabol, visited the Steel Town Police Station to file an official complaint. However, there has been no progress in locating the stolen motorcycle so far.
Locals have expressed growing concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the Steel Town area, where incidents of theft, robbery, and looting have become a daily occurrence.
“I frequently visit remote areas of Malir for field reporting,” said journalist Manzoor Solangi. “The theft of my motorcycle has made it extremely difficult for me to continue my professional duties.”
He appealed to the IG Sindh, DIG East, and SSP Malir to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure the recovery of his stolen vehicle.
