A comprehensive training seminar on sexual offenses was organized at Saleem Wahidi Hall under the supervision of DIG East, Mr. Usman Ghani Siddiqui. The event was held by the Special Sexual Offenses Investigation Unit (SSIOU) in collaboration with the renowned NGO Law Is My Protector.
The primary objective of the seminar was to enhance the professional capacity of police officers in dealing with sexual offenses, particularly rape cases, with sensitivity, legal understanding, and investigative precision.
The session was attended by all SSPs, SIOs of East Zone Investigation, and medical-legal experts. The program was conducted by SSP Investigation Ms. Alina Rajpar, who ensured smooth flow and engagement throughout the seminar.

Ms. Fauzia Tariq, President of Law Is My Protector, who delivered an insightful talk on Handling of Rape Victims.
Barrister Shahida Jamil, former Federal Law Minister, who addressed the Admissibility of Evidence in sexual offense cases.
DIG Investigation Mr. Zulfiqar Mehr, who emphasized the importance of continuous training for police officers to improve investigation outcomes and support to survivors.
The seminar highlighted the gravity of sexual offenses, legal frameworks and punishments under Pakistani law, the role of medical and forensic evidence, and the need for inter-agency coordination. Emphasis was also placed on protecting the integrity of evidence and strengthening victim support mechanisms.
At the conclusion of the event, DIG East Mr. Usman Ghani Siddiqui presented shields and awards to outstanding investigation officers and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the guest speakers and participants.
