KARACHI: (APP) A Rangers personnel was martyred while eight including two Rangers personnel sustained injuries in a bomb blast near Pakistan Rangers Sindh vehicle in Orangi Town area of the megalopolis on Monday.
The bomb planted in a motorcycle exploded when the Rangers vehicle was passing through the Vivo Mobile Market of Orangi Town no. 5, as a result one personnel of Rangers was martyred and two sustained injuries while passerby citizens including a policeman were also hurt.
Martyred Rangers personnel was identified as Roshan Ali son of Khan Muhammad Solangi while injured were identified as Aijaz and Hanif, According to SSP West, A policeman of Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell identified as Yousaf was also injured.
The Sindh Rangers officials SDPOs Pakistan Bazar Saffdar Shah and Ayoub Mehar, SHOs Orangi Town, Peerabad DIB inchagre District West Tanveer and rescue workers immediately rushed to the spot of incident and shifted injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical treatment.
The law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area. Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) West Capt. (R) Asim Qaimkhani, Wing Commander Sachal Rangers Col Aftab, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Suhai Aziz and DSP Operation West zone Nasir Bhukhari, also visited the spot of incident.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh taking notice of the incident sought detailed report from the SSP West.
