PTI Legislators holds protest over Water and Sewerage issues in Gulshan-e-Iqbal
The Legislators of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from Karachi Alamgir Khan MNA , Arsalan Taj MPA held a protest with party activist against water, sewerage issues in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Many of them accompanying Fixit activist and PTI supporters held a protest demonstration at University road and Hussain hazara goth goth here on Tuesday against supply of contaminated water to consumers and deteriorating civic conditions in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
MPA Arsalan Taj, said that majority of the district’s population did not get safe drinking water. We gave the government ample time to get the issues resolved but it has miserably failed to do anything in this regard so far the MPA said, and accused the government of having adopted a biased policy towards the people of Karachi.
He pointed out that the peoples of Karachi are facing intensive shortage of water while the water at University road flowing since a month which is the only negligence of KW&SB and exposed the failure of Sindh government. Contaminated water was being supplied to consumers and sewage on roads and in streets could not be removed for a long time. The people of this district were being made to endure a miserable life, he added. He also highlighted that the provincial government linked water issues with federal government instead of saving flowing water on the streets and roads of Karachi.

MNA Alamgir Khan,said that the Karachi Water and sewerage board is the entity of government of Sindh which officers had adopted an indifferent attitude towards the water and sewage issues increasing day by day and they seem to be not willing to look into the matter at all he said.
MPA Arsalan Taj and MNA Alamgir Khan had named the sewage effected road of Hussain Hazara Goth as “Shahra-e-Naamurad” in the presence of residence. MPA said the sewage issues at this area are now moving towards critical position by which the regular life of the residence effecting very badly. They said that the protest will be now continue in future against the government of Sindh and Karachi Water and Sewerage Boards till the resolve of current sewage and water shortage in over the constituency.
Rampant corruption on the part of the Sindh government deprived Karachi of its due share said Arsalan Taj.
The city and other parts of the district were also faced with many other civic issues but the drinking water and sewerage problems were the most pressing ones which must be addressed at once. MNA Alamgir Khan aslo warned that a vigorous campaign would be launched against the Sindh government if it failed to ensure supply of clean drinking water to consumers and take urgent steps for the repair and rehabilitation of the damaged sewerage system in Karachi.
