Pro people Local Govt projects to be executed on priority in Sindh, Saeed Ghani
The projects of the Local Government and Public Health Engineering departments of the Sindh government serving the interest of the people of Sindh will be executed on a priority basis
This was stated by the newly appointed Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, Public Health Engineering, and Rural Development, Saeed Ghani, on Wednesday in his first interaction with the officials of the departments included in his portfolio soon after he assumed the ministerial position.
On the first day of his new ministerial tenure, Ghani reached his office at the New Sindh Secretariat at 10 am and met officials of the relevant departments.
The newly appointed Sindh Minister met Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Manzoor Sheikh, Public Health Engineering Secretary Sohail Qureshi, Director-General of Sindh Building Control Authority Ishaq Khuhro, Project Director CLICK (Competitive and Livable City of Karachi) Asif Jan Siddiqui, chiefs of Karachi Development Authority, and Sindh Solid Waste Management Authority.
Ghani said on the occasion that he would convene a meeting in the coming few days to be attended by the senior officials of the subsidiary agencies of the Local Government Department to get a briefing on the working of their respective departments and decide the future course of action.
The Local Government Minister said that he would do his best to discharge the ministerial duties assigned to him by his party to serve the people of the province in the best possible manner.
He urged all the officials of the relevant departments to discharge their duties with utmost honesty, integrity, and dedication to help him serve the masses in Sindh.
He said the elected representatives of the people should fulfil the commitments and promises made to the people before polls after the governments in the centre and provinces had fully assumed charge as a result of the February 8 general elections.
He directed the Additional Chief Secretary of the Local Government Department and chiefs of relevant civic agencies to compile detailed reports on the working of their departments and present the same to him in the next two days with a briefing in this regard.
