Minister for Health and Population Welfare, Sindh, Dr. Azra Pechuho inaugurated the largest vaccination center in Pakistan.

Expo Center Karachi can cater to 25,000-30,000 vaccinations per day and will be operational 24 hours, free of cost.

The inauguration was also attended by officials from NCOC, Parliamentary Secretary, Qasim Siraj Soomro and Secretary Health, Sindh, Dr. Kazim Jatoi.

Vaccination drives will be expanded and this will include an increase in vaccination centers and ease of accessibility for every community and demographic.

After the 16th of May, vaccinations against Covid-19 will be available to those under 40 as well so as to be able to safeguard the most amount of people as quickly as possible.

The public must take some responsibility in following SOPs as it is this neglect that has caused a major spike in the rise of infections, said the Minister.

Dr. Azra Pechuho stated that, ‘we are ready to give money to the Federal Government so that they may procure the vaccines through fixed prices and provide them to Sindh.’

We wish for the speedy procurement of an adequate number of vaccines so that we can vaccinate as many people as possible, Minister for Health said.

If there is any confusion regarding getting registered for the vaccine, kindly make your way to our vaccination centers where a trained member of staff will administer the vaccine to you, she added.

Sindh will be providing Covax, Cansino, Astrazeneca and Sinopharm. As the city has seen the most infections in Karachi East, the people here are advised to take advantage of the Expo Center vaccination facility, Dr. Azra Pechuho said.

She added that NCOC had stated that they will be procuring 70 million vaccination doses by the end of this year for the whole of Pakistan.

Expo Center Karachi has 12 registration counters, with 6 blocks that contain 96 cubicles so as to safely and efficiently administer vaccinations.

Each shift will have 360 health care workers that will facilitate the vaccination process for the public.
