National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases-NICVD proudly conducted Certification and Appreciation Ceremony for its fellows.
The ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in Karachi. A total of 53 fellows were awarded certificates for successfully completing post-fellowship training in the sub-specialty of interventional cardiology, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Echocardiography, Cardiac Surgery and Paediatric Cardiology.
Congratulating the fellows, their parents & NICVD’s Management, Honorable Chief Guest, Murtaza Wahab said that it is a matter of enormous pride and honour for NICVD to conduct this great ceremony for its fellows and best employees. He acknowledged the positive impact of systems and processes of NICVD’s Postgraduates program in the areas of healthcare and education not only in Sindh Province but also in all over Pakistan.
Murtaza Wahab further added that National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases is taking important initiatives in order to keep up with these advancements by upgrading curricula, enhancing skills, improving teaching practices, fostering research and setting high standards in line with the international benchmarks, NICVD grew as a leading research institution and earn the highest ranking among national and international academic institutions. He wishes NICVD every success in its future endeavours.
In his welcome address, Executive Director of NICVD, Professor Nadeem Qamar said that it gives him immense pleasure to welcome all participants to this ceremony of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases-NICVD. By the grace of Almighty Allah, we have achieved this milestone through the untiring efforts of our dedicated faculty members and trainees and we have gathered here today to celebrate our collective achievement.
He added that it is great pride and honour for NICVD to conduct Certification & Appreciation Ceremony for fellows. NICVD’s fellowship program focuses at producing skilled doctors, equipped with the highest standards of leadership and management skills as well as ethical practices so that they are able to function as competent and compassionate specialists.
Professor Nadeem Qamar further stated that National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases-NICVD is one of the leading centers for Post-graduate Training in Adult Cardiology, Paediatric Cardiology, Anaesthesiology, and Cardiac Surgery and Post-fellowship Training in Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology and Cardio-thoracic Anaesthesiology. We also offer Post-graduate Diploma in Cardiology. It is a matter of great pride that 125 fellows completed FCPS training in Cardiology, 15 in Cardiac Surgery and 129 trainees cleared diploma in Cardiology during 2015-2019.
Professor Nadeem Qamar further said that he fells pride to tell you that in 2015 there was only one NICVD but now by the grace of Almighty Allah and untiring efforts of NICVD team there are 10 NICVD hospitals and 15 Units across Sindh Province; which are busy 24/7 in providing state-of-the-art cardiac treatment to patients at their doorstep totally free of cost. He thanked Sindh Government for their endless support and further appreciated the efforts of NICVD team for their endless endeavours.
The Ceremony was attended by a huge number of health and non-clinical professionals from different institutions.
