NCJP expresses concern over discriminatory jobs advertisement of DMC West

A Press Statement issued by National Commission for Justice & Peace(NCJP) stated that, It is sadly observed and noticed, that there is another recent job advertisement having elements of discrimination issued on 1st June 2020, by District Municipal Corporation (West) Karachi.

According to the announced advertisement, there were given 28 different categories of vacant jobs, by District Municipal Corporation (West) Karachi and in this same notice it is mentioned that the sanitary workers job is only for NON-MUSLIMS and this is a clear sign of discrimination with Non-Muslim citizens of Pakistan, it added.

Very Rev. Fr. Saleh Diego, Vicar General & Director National Commission for Justice and Peace of the Archdiocese of Karachi in his comments has said that it is not the first time, we have already seen many discriminatory advertisement, in the past, which are not acceptable. We, all the faithful and loyal Religious Minorities of Pakistan would like to request all those people involved in it to please avoid these types of propaganda.

Very Rev. Fr. Saleh Diego along with his NCJP office had arranged emergency meeting with Mr. Naveed Anthony, sitting member of Provincial Assembly, Sindh, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Karachi in which he requested him to look into the matter and make sure that these types of incidents and Advertisements may not come again and the Government must take serious action against this advertisement and all those who are involved in it.
