NARI Foundation organizes Community Youth dialogue on Climate Change

Community Youth dialogue on Climate Change and Sustainable Livelihood rural community in Sukkur was organized By NARI Foundation in collaboration with Awaz foundation Pakistan, VSO –Pakistan and UKaid.

Keys objects of youth dialogue were findings of Citizens’ Position on Food Security and Sustainable Livelihoods conducted during the previous phase Education and Livelihood Support Program 2020, experts’ opinion and recommendations were received related to aforementioned topic.

The Dialogue was started with the presentation of Citizens ‘position on Food Security and Sustainable livelihood by NARI Foundation team. Further, Youth were divided into groups in order to receive core recommendation and findings about Climate Change and Sustainable Livelihood from participants.

In views of experts related to subjects, Assistant Public Prosecutor Heranand Lalwani said that climate change has become issue of all over the world and affected the life of common people as well as business men.

That is why; Government must take prompt measure to reduce the climate change effects by taking some necessary measures such as tree plantation, care for trees and open nurseries on union council base. Further he said each person must cultivate a tree in their own areas.

He committed to provide tree seeds and trees to rural communities for tree plantation. At this occasion, Muhammad Mithal Bajkani,who is expert in nutrition, agriculture and Business, shared his views with participants that COVID19 has affected everyone’s life and at least half of the half population have become under the poverty line and facing inflation in Pakistan.

Therefore, Government must give subsidies on daily base consuming goods and release especial package for targeted poor people.

Moreover, he said it is a need of hour that we have to increase our capacity of modern technology in agriculture which would give good productivity such as China; our neighbor country has been receiving great productivity from crops by using modern technology.

Executive Director of NARI foundation Mr. Anwar Ali Mahar,Mr. Hyder Ali ,Ms Shazia Abbasi and Ms Rabia Phulpoto were present in youth Dialogoue.
