Sindh Minister for Education and Labor Saeed Ghani has said that PPP wants local body elections to be held in the province as soon as possible but due to controversial census delays are taking place due to delimitation and the federal government is responsible for it. The government and the city’s claimant party are the MQM, which has passed the controversial census in parliament and the CCI. He said that Inshallah, the PPP will surprise the upcoming local body elections and cantonment elections.

If the Kashmir elections were rigged like July 25, 2018, it would be an irreparable loss to the Kashmir cause. Educational institutions in Sindh have been closed because of the cowardly situation but the examinations cannot be canceled as it could jeopardize the children’s academic year. He expressed these views during a press conference at his camp office on Saturday regarding the joining of Najeeb Wali, former vice-president of Cantonment Board Clifton and three-time elected member, to the PPP. PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, Najmi Alam, Khalil Hot, Karamullah Waqasi, and others were also present on the occasion.

Saeed Ghani said that Najeeb Wali is the only elected member of Clifton Cantonment who has not only been elected to the board three times. Members have been elected, and he has once been elected vice president. He said that he’s joining the PPP would make the PPP more active. He said that nomination papers for cantonment board elections will start from July 26 and elections will be held on September 12 and inshallah PPP will field its candidates from all cantonment boards of Karachi but inshallah we will field all cantonment boards this time.

He added that we believe that the situation of Covid is deteriorating day by day in Sindh including Karachi but our steps in this regard are also getting faster in Sindh. He said that it is not correct to say that there are no beds for covid patients in the hospitals. Even now there are beds and ventilators in the hospitals all over Sindh including Karachi. However, we have tightened the precautionary measures so that God is willing. If the situation gets worse, don’t get out of control.

He said that 115,000 students will appear for the entrance exams in two shifts and more than 125 centers have been set up for this purpose and we will do our best to conduct the examinations with full SOPs as If these exams are not held on time, there is a risk of wasting children’s years and admissions to children’s universities and outside educational institutions depend on these exams. To another question, he said that the work of Sindh Solid Waste Management on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha this year was satisfactory and the steps taken to remove the debris on-time across the city were commendable.
