Malir residents, landowners and traders held press conference at APCM

Malir residents, land owners and trader’s leaders Saqib Rehman Memon, Aslam Baloch, Abdul Ghani Memon, Azeem Dehkan, Azizullah Memon and others reached Awami Press Club Malir and had press conference over express way on the platform of Express Way Victims Action Committee while declining Malir Express way they announced step-by-step movement against.

Landowners said that Malir Karachi is a key place which has served entire Karachi by its agricultural lands and provided vegetables, fruits and nourishment but sorry to say that from many centuries settled people have been ignored and for the excuses of various schemes they have been destroyed.

They said that now Malir express way is announced in the name of development and implementation has also been started which will destroy lands consisting hundreds of acres and thousands of people will be disturbed.

They said regreting that Sindh Government has intrigued to take over their descendants lands and their children’s livelihoods keeping secret express way route from elected representatives, affected residents and land owners.

They further said that some years ago, the map of express way was designed on other bank of Malir stream where there was often official land but now suddenly the map has changed with conspiracy and converted towards Malir’s populated areas where their children’s economic killing is being done.

They warned while announcing that if the route of expressway is not moved towards other edge of stream or harmful project is not ended then they will come out on roads in millions to protect their descendants lands and children’s livelihoods
