Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Ali Memon has said that in the light of the orders of the Supreme Court, an operation should be launched with a better strategy to demolish illegal structures on KDA lands across the city while pressure will not be accepted under any circumstances.
We will go to great lengths to make the operation against encroachments a success. A three-member committee comprising Director Land, Director State and Enforcement and Executive Engineers should be set up to survey the KDA scheme, occupy and report on Freeland within a week.
This was stated by DG KDA while presiding over a meeting of senior officers in the conference room.
He said that we have to focus on the development of Karachi and the welfare of the citizens.
It is the responsibility of all of us to believe in practical measures and to provide possible facilities to the citizens through mutual cooperation and consensus instead of spending verbally.
Corrupt officers in Karachi Development Authority will not be tolerated at all. He said that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
He further said that emergency measures should be taken to ensure timely payment of salaries and pensions of KDA officers and employees.
In order to get the people out of the atmosphere of mistrust, it should be observed how to provide the best facilities to the common consumers.
Karachi Development Authority has been a brilliant and enlightened institution in the past, the quality of KDA’s services and work for the city of Karachi is recognized at the national level, the government of Sindh to improve its performance and put the institution on its feet.
