Karachi Development Authorty’s budget for the financial year 20l21-22 was approved by the governing body.
The Governing Body also approved the approval of the budget under Section 27 of the KDA Order 1957 from July 1, 2021.
A meeting of the governing body was held at the Civic Center Seminar Hall yesterday.
The meeting was chaired by Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah in his capacity as Chairman Governing body.
Secretary Local Government Najam Shah, MPA Shamim Mumtaz, Director General KDA and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The budget approved by KDA for the new financial year 2021-22 is Rs. 6918.074 million which includes collection of arrears from other institutions, auction of plots, charge parking, savings market revenue and rent.
While the revised budget for the year 2020-21 amounts to Rs. 6605.805 million. Other expenses include payment of salaries and pensions, immediate expenses and works and development expenses.
Increases in salaries and pensions announced by the Sindh government by 20% and 10% respectively are included in the expenditure for the next financial year.
The Government of Sindh, in keeping with the tradition of the past, will continue to co-operate with the Karachi Development Authority in paying additional expenses in terms of salaries and pensions.
In this regard, a request has been made to the Government of Sindh.
Later on, Director General KDA directed the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh and Secretary Local Governments besides the Governing Body to restore the reputation of the organization from its inception till date.
Special mention was made of the cooperation and efforts of the members of KDA and also thanked all the staff of KDA and myself for the development of the organization.
