Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is driven by the approach of providing the best platform to the players in the field of sports. Keeping this approach, the department organized the KDA Gold Cup Cycle Race.
By organizing the cycle race, the athletes have got an opportunity to show their best skills. Director General of Karachi Development Authority Syed Shujaat Hussain expressed these views while formally inaugurating the KDA Gold Cup Cycle Race at Sabzazar lawn located in KDA main office Civic Center Karachi.
On this occasion,he said that the KDA Gold Cup 45 km long cycle race will be held towards Clifton via Shahrah Faisal, Metropol, Teen Talwar, Sea View, Do Darya from Civic Center.
It ended at Seaview McDonalds while more than 55 athletes participated in the cycle race.
He further said that the use of bicycle is beneficial for physical well being,as with the passage of time there has been a clear decline in the trend of cycling.
In the future, Karachi Development Authority will continue its efforts to organize various sports events, he added.
Further, He congratulates General Secretary Sindh Cycle Association Kaleem Awan, Patron in Chief Cycle Association Sadaf Jan, management and other officers and employees of the private company for the successful organizing of the KDA Gold Cup cycle race.
Later, at the end of the cycle race, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh Najmi Alam while talking to the journalists said that organizing the KDA Gold Cup cycle race in collaboration with the Karachi Development Authority and a private company is a positive initiative to attract the young generation towards sports.
Yes, despite the lack of resources, the players have shown tireless talent which is welcoming step, if the new generation is provided with complete facilities, there is no doubt that the players will definitely succeed in making the country famous around the world, he said.
It should be noted that for the first time in the history of Karachi Development Authority, the cycle race was successfully organized under the leadership of Director General Syed Shujaat Hussain.
DG KDA along with Director Administration and External Affairs Zafar Riaz Bari, Senior Director Land Waryal Indhar, Secretary KDA Behzad Amire Memon, Director IT Kamal Siddiqui, Director Planning and Urban Design Farid Shaikh, Director Parks Shakeel Khan, Superintendent Engineer Mohibullah Jafri, Director Public Housing Arshad Khan, Personal Staff Officer to DG KDA Riyaz Ahmad Rashid, Spokesperson of Karachi Development Authority Akram Sattar, KDA officers ,employees and citizens were present in large number .
