KDA Employees Union unveils CBA referendum manifesto

Karachi: MQM Pakistan affiliated KDA Employees Union Joint Incharge Imran Hussain Jafri on Tuesday announced the union manifesto for the upcoming CBA referendum of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) to be held on 6th March 2023.

The manifesto titled “We want to work for the betterment of KDA with your advice so that employees could get its benefit”.

Imran Hussain Jafri Joint Incharge KDA Employees Union, Chairman Abdul Maroof, President Nadeem Khokhar, Information Secretary Yasir Ali Khan, Deputy General Secretary Qamar Abbas ,Security Unit Incharge Shakir Ahmed, Committee Member Rafiq Saleem including other office bearers while speaking with Daily City News shared the key points of union Manifesto for upcoming referendum.

The Key Points of Union Manifesto were: Regularization of Contract and Work Charge Employees, Upgradation & 20 Percent allowance for security department employees, Employment of Son Quota, Betterment of health facilities, Employees club for employees, Promotions on time scale basis, promotion of all employees as per their seniority and education, continuation of Pipe Factory operations on commercial basis, continuation of Marriage/House purchase/Motorcycle purchase including other advances, Inclusion of school staff including teachers salary and post in budget, wave of all dues of employees in case of on duty death, Upgradation of all departments staff including lift operator clerk security staff sweeper electrician and others.

However Syed Imran Hussain said “ Mukka Symbol of Employees Union will win the CBA referendum with heavy margin of votes as it is the only union which is raising voice for the workers and taking practical steps in resolving their issues”.

He also added, Due to the efforts of Employees Union several issues of KDA staff and officers has been resolved, like the past union always stand with the employees and will also support management in taking every positive step for the betterment of department and its staff.

Imran Hussain further said, Currently, the voter interest of KDA employees can be clearly seen in the current situation that they are with Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan affiliated KDA Employees Union.
It was learned that around 1650 employees of KDA will use their voting right in this referendum, whereas four unions are contesting in it, among all the unions, currently KDA Employees Union an affiliated Union of United Labour Federation MQM Pakistan is in the lead with a strong position and has been allotted the election symbol Mukka.

Whereas it was observed that, CBA referendum in Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is going to held after almost six years as the last referendum held in April 2017 and now it has decided that the referendum for CBA will be held on 6th March 2023 in Civic Center Karachi.
