Karachi (PR) : On the specific directions of XIth Assistant District and Session Judge (ADJ) South, Naseer Noor Khan, the 1st Judicial Magistrate (JM) Asad Lala along with a team of International Lawyers Forum (ILF) raided Police Station (PS) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Civil Lines and found a detainee in lockup without any entry of FIR.
When the said JM ordered to release the detainee, the Station House Officer (SHO, of PS CTD, Raja Tariq escaped along with detainee from the back door and when the JM asked Duty Officer about the whereabouts of SHO and Detainee.
A senior official of CTD who introduced himself that he is the next to Raja Umer Khattab and Special Assistant of DIG Omer Shahid, he further revealed that the both said high-ups strictly instructed to the entire force of CTD that neither any authority nor government official even any court or judge can ask about CTD, its functions, details about culprits, detainees or staff.
Kafeel further disclosed that the DIG was issued the orders to detain Muhammad Akbar and he was taken into CTD custody on 18-05-2021.
Kafeel added that it’s not only the clear cut orders of DIG that anyone can be taken into CTD custody without any charge and may be detained for the period of 90 days without court permission or intimation as per the departmental notification issued by Omer Shahid.
Answering to a question, another CTD official namely Waheed revealed that SHO Raja Tariq, Syed Muhammad Sarfaraz and Tariq Qureshi have departed along with five detainees including Muhammad Akbar in their separate police mobiles from CTD’s back door.
Mst Afshan filed a Petition Under Section 491 Cr P C through her counsel, ILF’s Chairman Nasir Ahmed Advocate, in which she stated that the CTD officials kidnapped her husband from her home on 18-05-2021 and shifted him to PS CTD Civil Lines where the SHO Raja Tariq demanded heavy amount for his release, she further tells that some armed CTD officials in plane cloths looted her home including mobiles phones, gold jwellery, cash and other valuables and instructed her to keep her mouth shut otherwise her husband would be encountered.
The JM Asad Lala raided CTD along with the ILF team members Tehseen Manzoor Rajput Advocate, Jamshed Ali Khowaja Advocate, Barrister Habibullah Baloch, Syed Jaffer Abbas Jafri Advocate,Syed Zahid Ali Advocate, Muhammad Salman Farhad Advocate and Mehmood Khan Advocate.
The said JM ordered SHO CTD and other kidnappers to present infront of XIth ADJ South on Monday and closed the raid as per procedure accordingly.
