The eighth council session of the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Jinnah was held on Monday under the Chairmanship of Chairman Rizwan Abdul Sami.
All council members were present at the meeting, and they unanimously approved a resolution to protest against the absence of the Municipal Commissioner from today’s meeting.
Chairman Rizwan Abdul Sami, along with all the council members, staged a protest outside the Jinnah Town Council Hall. He said that they had been trying to make Jinnah Town an exemplary town for the last 16 months, but their efforts were being sabotaged under a well-thought-out conspiracy.
He said that all the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the UCs of Jinnah Town were present in the protest today.
He further said that the Municipal Commissioner had created his monopoly in all the revenue-generating departments of the town, whether it is local tax recovery or encroachment.
He is also causing obstruction in the departmental actions, against which they have sent a comprehensive report to the higher authorities for action.
Vice Chairman Hamid Nawaz Khan said that today’s protest is against the irregularities being committed by the Municipal Commissioner in the town.
He said that they want to improve the town with their joint efforts, which the Municipal Commissioner does not approve of.
He appealed to the higher authorities to take serious note of the issue and resolve it immediately.
On this occasion, UC 8 Chairman Junaid Mukati said in his speech that Wadera Shahi system has been established in the institutions of Sindh.
Jobs are being sold or distributed among ineligible people through fake domiciles, which is a massacre of merit. Corrupt people have been imposed in the institutions who are causing obstruction in the basic works of the people.
Afterwards, Chairman Rizwan Abdul Sami along with the members of the Town Council, also staged a protest outside the main office of Jinnah Town on Main University Road for the dismissal of Municipal Commissioner TMC Jinnah Elahi Bakhsh .
