The breakdown in the international underwater cable system AAE-1, which provides internet to Pakistan, has slowed down internet services in many countries, including Pakistan, but the cable has now been repaired. Announcing the update on the official Twitter site, PTA said that a submarine cable fault was reported yesterday near Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, which caused some customers to experience service problems. Has been fixed and full services will be restored soon.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in conjunction with an international submarine consortium, is committed to restoring the Internet situation across the country, a company spokesman said earlier. In view of the malfunction in one of the international cables connecting Pakistan to the world through the internet, alternative arrangements have been made by the concerned service providers through additional bandwidth to provide uninterrupted internet services to the customers.

It should be noted that according to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, about 102 million people in Pakistan use 3G and 4G internet while the number of fixed-line internet connections is around 104 million. The number of users ranges from 46 to 49 percent.
