Right to Play a non-governmental organization (NGO) celebrated the International Literacy Day in collaboration with the Standard Chartered Bank and Women Win Org, at Government Girls Secondary School Ghareebabad Lyari as every year on 8 September International Literacy Day is celebrated around the world in esteem of literacy and bring the masses closer to the education.
The celebrations of International Literacy day took place with zeal and Enthusiasm following with fabulous exhibition and a tree plantation drive at the ground of the school.
The event started once all exhibitors set their stalls timely and had maintained the decorum of celebration.
In order to review the importance of this day a seminar was arranged for participants which included chief guests Akhter Baloch Vice Chancler BBSU Lyari, Agha Fakhur Hussain program director of SBEP, Dr. Fozia chief adviser to SE&LD, and the other individuals associated with education and social sectors as well as a large number of students who participated in the event.
During the session on International literacy day, guest speakers highlighted the importance of literacy and education, addressing to the participants Akhter Baloch VC BBSU said, focusing on girls’ education will increase the literacy ratio across Pakistan while I do believe the change in society is tottaly dependent on reading and writing.
He pleased the efforts of the Right to Play which is playing a vital role in girls’ empowerment and education.
Afterward, the chief guests then visited the exhibition stalls of entrepreneur Goal girls (a project of RTP) where the stalls were decorated with creative self-made products, likely handicraft, Embroideries, Artistic works, desert, and foods, with other Crafts. Although all the exhibitors were students who uniquely represented their products.
Meanwhile, all the participants had appreciated the management regarding the celebration of International literacy day and conducting of this event in professional manners by setting an example of a managed event.
