International Conference on Saline resource management in context of Global Climate Change held in Avari Hotel
Karachi; An international conference was held at a local hotel on balancing soil salinity in terms of global climate change and its impact on plants and crops and lands, which was specially attended by Administrator DMC East Syed Shakeel Ahmed and Focal Person Imtiaz Bhutto.
Administrator Syed Shakeel Ahmed said on the occasion that soil salinity is of utmost importance in the growth of crops and plants, due to climate change in Pakistan, the cultivation of crops and plants is being affected due to land and climate change. Due to which the land is becoming barren as well as plants and crops are disappearing, which needs to be stopped and the conference organized in collaboration with Karachi University and other universities to deal with this problem and conference will play an important role for future loses which are commendable. Experts discussed innovative ways to improve barren and degraded lands through the use of locally available resources, the conference will continue for another two days.
A special shield was presented to Administrator DMC East, Syed Shakeel Ahmed, who participated in the conference.
Vice Chancellor Karachi University Dr Khalid Mahmood, Vice Chancellor Habib University Dr Muhammad Saleem and other experts and professors were present in the conference.
