New York City – Pakistani minorities residing in different countries worldwide came together to observe Pakistan’s National Minority Day 2023 via a virtual conference.

The cyber conference was organized by a dedicated Pakistani Hindu philanthropist Vajeesh Partab, who brought together participants from diverse nations including Pakistan, the USA, Italy, Spain, and more. The meeting was presided over by esteemed Christian leader Hashmat Barkat, with Mr. James Cyprian, PPP USA Vice President & Focal Person to the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development (HRD), serving as the keynote speaker. The event saw participation from a total of 32 individuals and the leading name were Ashok Kumar Baria, Sadaqat Sardar, Khalid Gill, Qamar Javed, Justin Perviz, William Shahzad, Emmanuel Javed, Noor Hussain Awan, Ravindra Kumar, Dilawar, Javed Iqbal, Team Jagruti, Jousha Gill, Shammas Tabriaz included.

During the conference, participants engaged in vibrant discussions and shared their views on the social and constitutional challenges faced by religious minorities in Pakistan. The virtual platform provided an opportunity for meaningful dialogue, highlighting the collective concerns and aspirations of Pakistani minorities residing abroad.

Mr. James Cyprian’s keynote address emphasized the vital role of safeguarding the rights and well-being of religious minorities within Pakistan. He praised the spirit of unity and collaboration among participants and reiterated the commitment of overseas Pakistanis to support and contribute positively to their homeland.

Hashmat Barkat, who led the conference, expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and insightful conversations. He commended all attendees for raising awareness about the issues affecting religious minorities and for fostering a sense of camaraderie among the global Pakistani minority community.

A common sentiment among all participants was the admiration for the initiatives and efforts undertaken by the Pakistan Peoples Party – PPP to empower minorities across the nation. Attendees expressed their hope that the PPP, under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will continue to excel in its endeavors for the betterment of minority affairs.

The virtual conference served as a remarkable demonstration of technology’s ability to bridge geographical divides and facilitate constructive discussions on critical issues.
