Amitabh Bachchan was one of many such celebrities as he recited a small verse dedicated to the moon landing on his hit game show, Kon Banega Crorepati.

The poem read, “Kal shaam ko jab chand niklega na, toh uss chand ki mitti par humare desh ke kadmon ki chaap hogi. Kal humara Chandrayaan 3, apne Maama ke ghar, yaani ke Chanda maama ke ghar pahuchega,” which roughly translates as, “In the evening, tomorrow, when the moon rises, our country’s footprints will be imprinted on the soil of the moon. Tomorrow, the moon of the stories of our childhood will be within reach to our country.”

The veteran Bollywood actor also later shared his pride in India’s triumphs, declaring the nation to have surpassed its third-world status and calling for it to be referred to as a first-world state.

Additionally, Dhamaal actor Riteish Deshmukh excitedly posted a photo of himself sporting an ISRO t-shirt, eagerly awaiting the news of the landing, while Bollywood rapper Badshah celebrated the grand victory in a tweet: “The biggest moment is here, victory is just two steps away from us.”

Kamal Haasan, however, felt it important to acknowledge the journey that India had taken to come this far, penning, “From carrying satellite parts on bicycles to landing on the moon – What a journey it has been! Team ISRO is the pride of the nation. A historic day that will forever be etched in our nation’s spacefaring odyssey. The day is not far when Indians will walk the moon.”

Other celebrities like Sunny Deol referred to the event as a “momentous feat in the History of India’s space exploration,” while Abhishek Bachchan commemorated the occasion as “a moment to remember, an emotion beyond words!”
