Drug Peddling in Lyari: MPA Abdul Rasheed demands action against drug dealers

Member of Provincial Assembly Sindh and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami from PS-108 Karachi South, Syed Abdul Rasheed has demanded the Chief Minister Sindh to take strict action against the increasing drug trafficking in Lyari. He said that the youth of Lyari need education and employment but not drugs.

Talking to Daily City News, MPA Abdul Rasheed said rising drug sales in Lyari town is a question mark and a cause for concern for the performance of law enforcement agencies, complaints of drug sales are being received regularly. He asked the Sindh government should explain that why the youth of Lyari had been left at the mercy of drug dealers.

He added that drug dealers have set up drugs den around playgrounds and schools, youngsters are lying in the playgrounds in a state of intoxication, in this critical situation the government is doing nothing to stop drug peddling in this case immediate action must be taken to curb drugs dealer.

He questioned that why Lyari is being poisoned instead of being providing education and health facilities, we would not tolerate the negligence of the government in any case, he also warned if the government does not take immediate preventive measures we will set up the sit-in outside the Sindh assembly with worried parents.

Meanwhile, he added that I want to provide education and healthy sports to the children of Lyari, he also said that why the police department is behaving annoying and does not know who is selling drugs in Lyari, the silence of the police is a matter of concern.

He requested the high authorities and officials of Sindh Police to tackle the increase of drug peddling and wind up the roots of crimes in Lyari otherwise we will be protesting outside the Provincial Assembly.
